"Understanding of the human heart in the tale of two women..."

I loved this book! This is the story of two women who trade houses for the summer. Ria lives on Tara Road in Dublin, Ireland with her handsome rich husband Danny and their two children. They started their life together without much, but Danny's desire for owning a show place home combined with Ria's ability to find a bargain, pinch pennies, and desire to please her husband quickly gets them the house of their dreams. He quickly gets the wife, house, career and public notoriety that he craves. She stays home and takes care of the house and kids. She believes she is happily married and ignores any and all signs that contradicts that belief until Danny leaves her for his pregnant mistress. Marilyn lives in New England, USA, and is struggling with the grief of losing her son. She has recently separated from her husband. The two women decide to exchange houses for the summer. The two women are completely different, yet exchanging homes ends up being exactly the remedy that each needs to deal with their past hurts and get on with their lives. They learn more about themselves--where they have been and where they want to go--and they learn a lot about each other. In the end, these two women become good friends.
I really enjoyed reading this story and recommend it. I would classify it as a "coming of age" book for grown women. I loved the characters and found their lives, emotions, responses, and outlooks to be appropriate and realistic. I would love to see this book as a movie on the Hallmark channel.

I enjoyed this story. At times it was slow but overall it was an interesting plot that made me want to read it to the end to see how it resolved. It had a satisfying ending for me.
